Educational Outreach

The Fresno Numismatic Society supports educational efforts in the area of Numismatics. By encouraging interest in coin collecting we hope to inspire the next generation of numismatists. FNS members are available to provide information about the hobby of Coins, Currency, and Medals to the Fresno community.

Two of our FNS members (Dave and Carolyn) have organized a Coin Club for students at Washington Elementary School in Reedley, California.  This is a perfect example of FNS outreach:  working to inspire the next generation of coin collectors.  The students are currently working on Lincoln Cent collections, sorting through piles of cents to fill the holes in their albums.  Dave and Carolyn have invited FNS members to attend the bimonthly meetings to present collector information to the Young Numismatists.  Hopefully this project will provide a model for additional clubs at other area schools.

If you or members of your organization have questions about coin collecting or other related Numismatic topics we are glad to share our knowledge. We can travel locally to provide general presentations about our hobby upon request. We may be able to generate a more specific program about specialized topics such as Type Coin Collecting, U.S. Gold Coins, Morgan Silver Dollars, or other areas of interest.

Please address all inquiries about Numismatic Education to FNS at our email address: fresnoclub@gmail.com.

Long Live Numismatics!
