Fresno Numismatic Society 70th Anniversary Medals

Every 5 years FNS issues souvenir medals to commemorate our anniversary. 2016 marks Year 70 since the Society was founded so it's time for a new medal.

The population of Fresno includes one of the largest Armenian communities in the United States and many individuals from this population have made great contributions to our city. One of our best-known Armenian citizens was distinguished author and playwright William Saroyan. In honor of Fresno's rich Armenian heritage we have selected Mr. Saroyan's portrait for our obverse medal design. The medal reverse shows the traditional logo for the Fresno Numismatic Society.

The 70th Anniversary Medals are struck in both Silver and Bronze. The Silver medals contain 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Both medals feature a beautiful prooflike finish which provides a strong cameo effect. We still have medals available, priced at $40 for the silver and just $5 for the bronze.
